Tips from the Invictus Coaches

  • Consistency is key: run your race and don’t blow up in the first few rounds. Find a pace you can maintain and hang onto it.
  • Quick release getting in and out of the rower: don’t let transitions slow you down. Use the quick release on the erg to get in and out.
  • Vary your grip on the deadlifts: with ALL of the movements involving grip, make sure that you are varying your grip on deadlifts to avoid blowing up your forearms. A mixed grip can be super beneficial!
  • Lay out the rope untangled: if you drop your rope between rounds and have to waste time untangling it then you will lose precious time in transitions. Set your rope down on the floor so you can quickly begin your next round of double-unders.
