Workout of the Day
A.
Three sets of:
Deadlift x 6-8 reps @ 2011
Rest 90 seconds
Ring or Stationary Dips x 20-25 reps
(more advanced athletes may perform the dips from high rings – starting each set with a muscle-up)
Rest 90 seconds

B.
Three rounds for time of:
500 Meter Row
15 Hand-Release Push-ups
25 Kettlebell Swings (32/24 kg)

If you have a training partner, perform this as a team of two, with one person trailing the other. As soon as partner A completes the 500 meter row, Partner B jumps on and rows while partner A performs the push-ups and swings.

Welcome, Justin! We are here to help so post questions and comments frequently. For your dips, how many are you able to do unbroken? How do you usually break up a set of 20?

Thanks!

15/5/5 in first set then 10/5/5 in second and the third set started with 7 and broke down from there pretty quick. Endurance is no bueno.

First day back after being gone with bronchitis for 18 days. Still coughing up a storm, but the inability to work out is killing me. I probably should do the fitness programming until I’m back to normal, because this was brutal on the lungs. Nowhere near what I can do, but it is what it is…

Glad you’re feeling a little better, Maria! Definitely ease back into it – it can take a while to get your lungs back after a chest infection.

A.
Deadlifts @ 275#: 7/7/8
Ring dips from muscle up height: 20/20/20*
*Stayed lighter on deadlifts to focus on tempo and not make my back super sore for the rest of the week. Wanted to do dips from muscle up height so I broke up sets 2 and 3. Not sure if they were meant to be unbroken.

B.
Running low on time this morning so did 10 min AMRAP @ Rx weight: 2 rounds + 339m

For the row, we are really just looking to get your heart rate up so you can use anything that does that – double-unders, run, bike, box jumps, etc. I’d caution you against doing BB or DB rows for time – good way to get injured and we want you around crushing workouts for many years!
