Did 1RM Bench in between FS sets

Built to 112.5Kg on bench (no spotter so I didn’t ‘max’ out)

Pause FS to 110KG (242lbs) needed belt, felt like I was gonna pass out haha

Yesterday’s WOD no skipping rope
5 Hspu
10 ring dips
15 push ups

3 rnds in 10 mins, just hit muscle failure fast

Planned on doing a few max sets unbroken cleans @60kg…
Did 1 set of 10 and then just went home cause I was starving and it was cold as in the gym today

On the road for work so the hotel gym limited my options. Did the workout from 5/7/18 with lots of mods.

A: 6×10 DB bench @50lbs
6×12 alternating DB snatch @45lbs

B: 5 HSPU
10 dips (treadmill arms)
15 push-ups
20 box jumps 20” was all I had
3 rounds on the button

This was really tough. Mostly because there was a big spider hiding under the floor trim. It kept coming out when I was doing HSPUs and was defenseless. Everyone has their weakness. Mine is spiders. I can teleport when they appear.

Hello all. Sunday, my husband and I did a partner wod and I managed to throw my neck out. It was so bad, I had a stiff neck and couldn’t move it to the left. Silly. So I took yesterday off and took it fairly easy today.

A. 105, 125, 135, 140, 145, 150

B. 9, 9, 9, 9.
Between rounds 1 & 2, I got confused and only took one min rest. Ooops. I suffered for it!

Yes, it’s definitely getting better. Last night it was a lot better and this morning, though I feel it when I turn my head in certain ways. It will be fine in a couple days, I just have to keep working to loosen up the muscles. And of course be more careful. No HSPU for a while for me….. 🙂

Lol sure!! Your post got me thinking and oddly enough, I don’t seem to be getting DOMS too often, with the exception of heavy lunges or BSS… and I’m a bit surprised. I used to get pretty sore but I guess my body has somewhat adjusted to the volume? Is your training schedule pretty regular or sometimes skip a few days in a row? Not sure if that could have something to do with it or not. I’m sure what these guys said will help… light active recovery/mobility work/foam roller/stretching. I do enjoy the scotch too!!

Haha. That’s one approach!

What has worked for me is spend a 10+ minutes stretching after I workout and using my foam roller. I also get some protein in about an hour before bed. All of those things have greatly reduced DOMS. I hope you find something that helps out.

It’s funny you say that, my approach is pretty similar. 20-min of stretching/foam rolling, and I usually have a collagen shake prior to bed.

Honestly it might just be stress. Life’s been throwing a few curveballs as of late—I just gotta stay in that batter’s box!
