18.2 – 9:00
18.2a- 205
Can’t say I’m feeling great about this performance but not gunna lose sleep over it just gotta keep getting better….
Nice effort Dustin and good attitude. We’re all competitive by nature, which helps drive us, but the Open is nothing to worry about. It’s a great learning experience for us all! How many times have we done a metcon and then strength training!??
Thanks brother I know ur gunna crush it tomorrow! Always a humbling experience and this was definitely a different type of workout….I appreciate you man keep crushing and having fun
I Re-did today, posted on today’s and replied to my own below.
If they have Murph or Cindy you’ll put us all to shame brother!!!
Just watched your video your pauses were much less than mine….u crushed it! I’d gladly take some push-ups pull ups and running lol….heck even Fran!
I think You might get your wish with Fran!
I hear you man. I felt the same way. It was definetly a frustrating one. Good post!
Thanks Chad u did awesome!
That’s how I felt about 18.1. I sure as heck wasn’t going to redo, but didn’t like the result.
18.2 – 8:44 18.2A – 132# Well not nearly as good on 18.2 as I had hoped for. I tripped on the bar on the last jump over in round 4 and 8 so both feet didn’t land at the same time. From looking at the video one may not have noticed…but I knew, so I did the burpee and jump over again on each one. Then on set 9 my person counting for me miscounted and I did 10 squats (which I thought was wrong while I was doing them…but) and then I did an extra burpee also…GRRRRR On… Read more »
Great work candy!
Thank you Jorge!
Great work Candy!! This was a brutal combo!! I had to no rep myself on my 9th burpee in rd 9 and lost about 10s, very frustrating indeed! And that close to your PR is impressive!
Thank you…yeah I’m thinking all my sloppy work…mis counting cost me close to a minute…but it’s time to move on…
I think that frustrated attitude is a good one to have… its what separates us from others who are content to stay the same!! Keep it up Candy!
Awesome job, Candy! Rocking the nail polish!
I was impressed with how many cleans you squeezed in there.
Thanx Ryan…that made me smile..cuz you can’t do all this shit without GREAT looking nails! 15 more seconds and I would have made another attempt. ..the cleans actually didn’t feel bad…wish I hadn’t spent so much time catching the breath after the metcon.
Great job, Candy!
Active recovery
15 min easy spin on AB (4.8mi, 119cals)
Felt like legs needed this today
Shoulder mobility work
Got volunteered to help with the city’s street fest so I have been out of commission the last 3 days. Fun but it didn’t help the workout schedule much.
Squat clean technique work.
Built up to 175 focusing on the hips and pulling under the bar. Went pretty well.
5 rounds of 18.1 in 12:30. About what I expected. T2B were down to doubles. Worked on strategy and pacing. At least the row and DB hang C&J stayed fairly consistent. Now I have to try to squeeze in 18.1 & 18.2 both this week.
If you are going to do both of those this week then you better plan rest between! Good job getting in what you can on limited time Ryan!
Good thinking, Candy. Will do.
Nice work! You got this!
Thanks, Joey. I appreciate the encouragement and support.

Does anyone regularly take Fitaid or Lifeaid? Which is beneficial post workout?
18.2
8:58
18.2A
175lb (single arm)
This didn’t go quite as I wanted. The Legs burnt out on the db squats. Got two cleans in, 165 and 175. Goal was to be in the mid 7’s on A and 180-185 on B. This as a crazy stong community on here. There’s a lot of guys and gals crushing this! Great job and thanks for the push! It’s super motivating seeing the numbers on here everyday.
Great work Chad – I’ll remember 18.2 as being tricky …
Chad it still amazes me that you put in insane work with one arm.
Absolutely love it brother. I appreciate you!
Thanks Teddy. Appreciate it brother.
Great work Chad!
Thanks man!
Chad…cleaning 175# with 1 arm…seriously…That’s crazy awesome!
It definitely was a deceiving one. I would’ve been crushed mentally if it wasn’t for doing a test run friday first. Great work man, you brought it!! And that single arm stuff is always amazing!!! Way to go
Luke & Anika
3 rounds + 46 kettlebells
A. Open Workout — 18.2: 7’45” — 18.2A: 225 lbs My legs surprisingly felt fantastic after the first part. I told my wife it would be a miracle if I hit 225 since 235 is my lifetime PR on the clean. If I retest I plan on punching 235 in the mouth. Fuel this morning was sponsored by three double-stuffed Oreos and a cup of creamer with coffee. Delicious. B. 9-minute EMOM — Clean x 1 rep (185) — Handstand Walk Congrats to everyone getting one day better. For those who haven’t done the workout, my only advice is this—it’s… Read more »
You just beat me! (On the metcon obviously) great work on the clean and you can crush 235. I wish I would have had time for one more lift because I felt like I could have crushed 300. ?
Way to get her done! I felt the same way, one more minute would have been golden for me. I had time for three cleans which was my game plan, so if an encore feels right I’ll start a wee bit heavier.
And 155 is no joke amiga. BRAVO.
Teddy – you animal.
Just trying to follow your lead boss! Love being pushed by your performances day in and day out.
Oreo, never letting you down.
Powerful work beast!
Ur serious business and I’m taking ur pre workout fuel advice ??
Your the man Teddy!
You did work after 18.2, straight up loco brother. Great work, that’s a killer combo!
Damn Teddy…killing 18.2 and then extras…my hero!
You crushed it Teddy!! When they grow up, my legs want to be like yours. Amazing work once again you make this community proud
Finished 18.2 in 11:00
Started clean at 11:30. Hit 170.4 with time for one lift. Needed time to breathe-poor conditioning
Masters 45-49
Great job Christian…we are in that same Masters category…and the way I see it is if you were able to do the work there is nothing poor about it! Congrats!
Great job to you as well!
Great work man! Impressive getting one lift done in that short time window
Thank you all! Great support here on this site. About a month back in from taking 2.5 months off and each week getting better.
Nice work. Good to see another masters on here. I only remember seeing you in the last few weeks. Have you been posting here long?
No just about two weeks posting and following. We just moved and finally got home gym set up last month. Was going to box while we were in temp home and before that was following outlaw masters at our old home gym.
Where did you move to? Moving is always an adventure. Answer as generically as you like since you don’t know me from Adam. How long have you been doing crossfit?
Moved to Charleston Sc. Been doing CrossFit about 4 years? You?
Not quite 1.5 years. Had a bit of a hiatus when I herniated a disc at the outset due to extreme core weakness.
My nephew and his nephew moved in a few blocks away and got me started.
3 full rds, plus midway through double unders on 4th set.
With wife as partner.
18.2 – 7:05
18.2a – 245# (missed 265 3 times!!!)
Frustrated after catching 265 twice and wasn’t able to stand up, will re-do Monday with 255 in-between. The pull was heavy after the metcon. Great job to all!
Great job brother
Frustrating but great numbers nonetheless. Great job man!
Great work man! Seems like smaller jumps is the better strategy, hope it works out
U will definitely get it on Monday…although today’s results are outstanding! Great work for an old guy. 😛 !!
I want to see the video. ? Great time and you’ll get the lift next time because you’ll be expecting the feel after the metcon.
https://youtu.be/ftbxIICVBz8 Sunday’s vid
Thanks! It was a bit soul crushing wasn’t it? I kept shouting at myself to hurry up, but I ignored the voice….. 🙂
Ha, burpees can only come so fast with all those squats!
You’re still my hero!
Great job! That’s a quick warmup for those cleans – deceiving WOD.
Surprisingly I got to the cleans pretty quick, I gave myself 1min of rest. First pull was 225, which felt HEAVY. I had plenty of gas, just no strength
You hit this like a champ! Great job on both parts!
Thanks!
Damn, you’re making me want to redo this.
I may rethink when I wake up tomorrow and can’t walk?

I re-did today (Sunday). 7:02/255#
A coach friend told me to do PCs and I thankfully listened!
Don’t be frustrated. Relatively speaking, you crushed this workout. Some choose not to do these workouts, others can’t do them. You did it and did it well, my friend!

I re-did today (Sunday). 7:02/255#
A coach friend told me to do PCs and I thankfully listened!
Way to get it! Nice job.
Thanks Chris!
Heck yes!
Thanks Jorge, it was only an incremental improvement which told me I was right at my capabilities.
Just watched the vid. Nice work. You cruised through part A.
Thanks, believe me, it hurt!
I can’t deny I am a bit worried about it. Watching you, a guy who out squats me by 100+ lbs, work to get those 50lb DBs up 55 times makes me wonder how much time I will have to clean.
Hopefully Wednesday or Thursday. Once more into the breach!
You got this Ryan, what you saw in today’s squats was a bit of a hangover from doing it yesterday also. Just don’t put the DBs down and keep moving, it’s only 6-7-8-9-10 reps, don’t think past the current round!
Did 18.2 this AM, took 9:15 for the METCON, did the squats UB, but the 50 lbs. DB were rough, still managed to get in 5 cleans and hit 200 lbs. as the clock hit 12 min, so I was happy about that. Hope all of you are well.
Amazing work!
Great work Michael, it’s been a while!
More mobility work and stretching today. Made a few adjustments to my game plan for 18.2…but didn’t push it. I’m ready for it tomorrow!
Did a few BMU progessions…can’t wait to feel what it’s like to actually get one!
You will crush 18.2!!
18.2 is yours for the taking burpee queen
Allow yourself to be surprised by what you can do …
18.2: 10’57” 18.2A: 97.5 kgs “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast”, this was my mantra This were a couple of hard days mentally for me; completely out of character, I felt that the 18.2 announcement broke me, I was in a super negative mental state thinking about how I was going to be timecapped after running out of breath in the first few rounds of burpees and how I wouldn’t be able to take my shot and show my strength in 18.2A. I thought that I was going to be crushed under all the amazing performances crossfitter are doing… Read more »
Wow Jorge…there may have been some crying involved while reading that! What an amazing post! I think there are many of us that struggle with our own inner negativity…admitting it and moving past it is definitely what matters most. Great work on your part for getting by it and figuring out how to push yourself to success! You work far to hard to ever think that you should quit…hell your just getting started and you are doing GREAT!
Great effort Jorge for me what you wrote captures the best part of the Open – the opportunity to surprise yourself of what you are capable of.
Hey Jorge, winning your own mental battle is a great victory on its own. It is certainly difficult and we all face it one day or another. Amazing job man! But also… great numbers you killed it!!! All those cleans in that amount of time right after finishing 18.2 is Beast
Awesome post and you crushed 18.2!
I hope you always know this, but apart from exercise, you’re life-giving my dude. Your transparency is something that goes far beyond the limits of chalk and a bar.
This virtual fist bump is dedicated to you hermano ?? ??
Way to kill it Jorge!!! You can accomplish more than you know!!
That is awesome, Jorge!
I’m taking a day to recover from 18.2/a (and from the margaritas last night…).
18.2: 8:14
18.2A: 185#
Was aiming for 9:00 and hopes were not too high so I’m happy! 185# is my current 1 RM but not tested in awhile. Did 165-175-185. I feel like I might’ve been able to get 190-195 but I played it safe and am still happy with my performance. Don’t mind the early arm pulls on the cleans… still needs work lol. Also not sure about the squat depth always being ok after seeing myself do them but hopefully the score will hold up.
https://youtu.be/nHi8Rw-WGb
Absolutely amazing Joey! I told you that the gains would come..congrats!
thanks for the support!
Yeah! Great job! That’s a great score!
Thanks Janelle! You really crushed this one way to go!
Great job Joey!
Thanks!! Did you do this one yet?
Gunna grind it out tomorrow
Great work Joey.
Thanks man!
Who is couching you? He was really on his game! ? I counted for a friend and realized that you actually really have to focus not to screw them up. I lost count on her last 5 burpeese because I thought, “she has five more” then looked at the clock and then was like, “crap” no idea. I stopped counting out loud because I didn’t want to screw her up. Fortunately she was countig and someone else was watching.
My cousin did great!! I asked him to count the reps so I wouldnt get confused and push me… and it worked awesome!
YEAH BUDDY. I’d love to see what you could clean fresh.
ME TOO BUDDY
Amazing to hit your PR!
Thanks!! Can’t wait to test a new PR on this movement

Great work today James!
Thanks Joey, felt weird programming for myself again!
Hi, if i don’t have a partner is better to sub the reps or the time? Thanks!
Hi Nicola, I would keep the reps and do it as equal work:rest. That should keep the intended stimulus!
Ok, thanks!
