At a bodyweight of 63kg and only 19 years of age, Maddy Myers might make grown men feel sheepish! She competed at the Jr. Pan Ams last week and swept the stage. She impressively hit an 89 kg snatch and a 120 kg clean and jerk, taking silver in the snatch and gold for the clean & jerk. She broke the previous American records (which she held) with her 120 kg clean and jerk and 209 kg total. The results not only earned her the gold medal, but also the award of “Best Female Lifter” at Pan-Ams, an incredible feat. Her drive as an athlete is incredible and to watch her continual development is equally impressive. This is only the beginning for young Maddy Myers!
