M’s Magic Mushroom Powder
Written by Michele Vieux

Seasoning and spice blends are an easy and healthy way to add flavor to your meals. But they can be expensive if you buy them from the grocery store. Have you ever considered making your own? It’s super easy if you have a food processor and it allows you to get creative based on what you like.

Magic Mushroom Powder is one of my favorite blends to use on almost anything – pork chops, rack of lamb, stewed veggies, soups and more are enhanced with this blend. People also love to get it as a gift, especially if you put it in a cute jar or container. The flavor combinations are endless so get creative based on what you like and what ingredients are easy for you to get. My recipe is below to give you some ideas but, remember, recipes are for ideas and don’t need to be followed exactly so go for it!

5 ounces dried shiitake mushrooms
5 ounces Montreal steak seasoning
¼ cup dried onions
⅛ cup dried garlic (if using garlic powder, use much less than this)
¼ cup dried rosemary
⅛ cup dried thyme
2 tablespoons dried oregano
5 dried bay leaves
red pepper flakes

Throw everything into a food processor and pulse until it becomes a fine powder. Use on meat, veggies, eggs, soup and anything else you can think of!
