1 Clean Lift-Off + Clean
Build over the course of the 10 sets to something heavy. A Clean Lift-Off is the first portion of the clean, from the ground to the knees. Keep your torso angle consistent through all phases of this lift-off, and pause 2-seconds at the knees each lift-off. After your lift-off, reset and perform a full clean.

I did better on this one then I expected.
A. Worked from 65 – 135 failed it a couple times, then got it on round 9 failed on round 10. Could have gotten it with a few more tries, but wanted something left for the METCON.

17.1: scaled or RX’d? the ego debate begins
Did you scale the snatches on Tuesday?
I used 20 kgs on tuesday, mostly because I wanted to save some energy but those burpees seem to be metabolic killers; but I haven’t really used 50 lbs DB to do anything. Also scaled seems deceptively easy “Men use 35-lb. dumbbell and 20-in. box, step-ups OK”
20kgs is almost Rx for 17.1, you can do it!
1 rep Rx ranks higher than 225 scaled on the leader board … just saying.
The race is on brother, looks like beating that time cap is going to be a struggle.
I do want to fight for that 299999 spot ?
17.1: I guess it’s a good thing I did 100 db snatches 2 days ago….. wow. Gonna be a grind.

As far as scaling the power cleans, should this be “heavy but manageable”? I am usually about 20# under the RX weight. My 1RM is 140 for PC and 125 is VERY heavy for reps.
I think it should be a challenging but manageable weight; my 1RM is 180 so I went with 135 for the reps as I can move that for 10 reps in a minute or so
Kept it light and focused on good reps in light of the open tomorrow.
A. Did (hang squat clean + squat clean) up to 225
B. Rx 9:12, saving the dark place time for tomorrow.

Ha yeah, I can say that for cleans, snatch is another story… seriously though, stay with it. I never thought I’d see the day I could stand up 225. You’ll get there!

tomorrow is full strategy day for us in my box because 17.1 will be judged on saturday; we’ll just drink coffee, do some mobility, talk about rx and scaled strategies and think why nature didn’t allow us to be fit just by eating doughnuts
