Restore Your Hair with this Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

I experimented with something this past week that has been recommended to me by many. Some of you reading this may have already tried it out but, in the case that you haven’t, PLEASE READ ON because this is a pretty life changing tip to add into your health and wellness routine.

Your hair. Yes, I am talking to each and every one of you! Anyone who works out, gets sweaty and then uses shampoos, conditioners, gels, mousse, dry shampoo (the list goes on) to clean/shape their hair know all the build-up this can create. Not only do sweat and hair products create some build-up in your hair but these products can also create a small film on your scalp that can lead to fungal and bacterial growth. Gross, you may think, but something that we all are susceptible to!

One way to combat this is by doing an apple cider vinegar rinse. There are many benefits to trying out this rinse. Not only does this rinse help combat fungal and growth bacteria, but due to the acidity in the apple cider vinegar, it can bring the PH balance of our scalp back to a normal level since the PH balance is often disrupted by the types of shampoos and conditioners we use. The rinse can clean up any residual build up and, for those of us who have our hair in pony tails during workouts, will help prevent breakage, which is so often caused by the elastic bands.

All in all, this is a great way to restore your hair to its natural luster! Try this rinse out and let us know what you think!

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
3-4 Tbs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
16 Oz water (make sure the water is warm)
2-3 drops of essential oil (I chose lavender oil)

In a bottle, add all the ingredients above and mix. Place in the shower and, after shampooing, pour the rinse over your scalp and let stand for 2 minutes. Then rinse!
