Track Recap & Announcements
What do you all think of the cool baton one of our members bedazzled?
After doing relays last week we toned things down a little bit and attacked a workout that was a little longer by nature.
Attendance – Kesha, Ryan, Eric, Kristine, Rachel, Nate, Candice, Patrice, Adrienne, Jes, Borrelli, Fonda, Brandle, Ed MacBean, James & Johannah, Ken, Miné, Alexis, Mikey B, Ayo & Angel.
- Ryan & Kristine will be competing in their first triathlon this weekend as they head up to San Luis Obispo county to do Wildflower tri – this is one of the funnest events I have taken part in. Everyone camps out for a few nights and the event is well run, scenic, challenging and all around a great time!!!! Think good thoughts for them this Sunday as they do the Olympic Distance Tri (1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 10k run)
- Eric came out to join us for the first time – he’s training for AFC so we hope he’ll be back regularly
- Fonda came back from an injury and found out she was selected to run Nike Women’s Marathon in SF later this year (congratulations)
- Ayo, Angel & Ken came out and even though they didn’t run they did a great job as my assistant coaches – I always appreciate having help, so if you are nursing an injury you can always come out and have fun with the group!!!!
Make sure you read the following article about how to push your anaerobic threshold and let me know what you think about it. It came out in one of the recently Active Newsletters -

Training week for April 22nd-28th
Ragnar is now behind us and what a blast the team had. If you didn’t follow it on Facebook, be sure to check out the Invictus Endurance Team page for all the great photos. It’s definitelty a once in a lifetime experience. You bond with the people in your van and over the 36+ hours of running and resting you get to know eachother rather well I know there are quite a few stories I won’t care to repeat from Ragnar 2012. A big thank you to Michael Bellock for being a great captain and helping coordinate

Track Recap from 4/18
Another great group that showed up for running 800s yesterday. We had some first timers at the track, shout out to Adrienne for completing the entire 6 rounds of the workout. We had a few folks that hadn’t been seen in awhile – Manfred finally coming back from his basketball hiatus, and Shelly coming back to run after she had a minor set back of dislocating her shoulder. The 6 rounds might have sounded like the worse workout in the world, but they were not to be done all out – before the group started the workout I explained
