35:00 flat. Rx. Took me a while to get around to it because I’m trying to get over the cold but today was last day to do it. If Rich Froning competed with fever, I figured I didn’t have an excuse. An older dude at work did this 1 month after a heart intervention. Madd props. I, on the other hand, almost puked last round.

39:09 This was my marathon; I had decided that I was going to finish this wod before it was announced, It didn’t matter to me what it was. It was just a matter of finding a way to handle it and get my first Open victory. The 43 kgs thrusters are not really a big issue, as long as I warm up properly and do good mobility work; I just had never done them in this volume before. After a lot of DU practice in these past weeks and trying different strategies in how to accumulate reps for this wod,… Read more »

24:58. Started out great but my shin splints caught up with me about the 5th rd of double unders then it was a struggle. We do all of the invictus workouts and open workouts in our garage in our homemade gym, so it’s different than a box but it’s been amazing so far. Any recommendations for shin splints? I used KT tape and stretched a good amount but I just can’t kick them. Thanks!

Rx 15:54 ugh. Not how I wanted to end things. Ended up having to wait 2+ hours to get into a heat and this was during dinner time… almost backed out but did it anyway… will most likely re-do with proper rest and prep

For a new warmup just before to get you ready, right before redo, hit up 5 burpees, 3 thrusters, 20 dubs as fast as possible….. rest a short bit and redo for 3 total sets… go 95, 115, 135 ; worked for me. Good luck

Good luck to everyone today! This one looks like it’ll mutilate you.

Still a gimp, so I did something else friendly to my knee recovery. Considering a thruster is what took out my knee, I’m looking forward to the day I can do one. Or a thousand. Until then…

Part I: AMRAP — 10 min
10 ‘Merica KB Swings x 45 lbs
10 Cal Assault Bike

Total Rounds: 4 + 9

Feeling good about this time because DU come and go for me. Today they were fairly steady, couple of rounds I had to just take a second and regroup…but other than that the rounds ranged from 1:30-1:45.

Double under technique absolutely killed me.

Started cross fit in Jan and so happy to have completed my first open . Love the excitement , encouragement and the challenge. Highlighted some serious areas to work on.

Can’t wait until next year.

Good luck to everyone who hasn’t done it. Mental strength and focus needed !
