Rxd 270
Feel like I may have paced a little too much as my lungs were no bother, slipped off of the bar in the last set though, hands were fine but my flexors were ruined.
Some amazing scores below
Oh MY… my first open workout! Had to use 35# DB and do solo in garage. Feel like I could have gotten in one more 1/2 round if I didn’t have to reset rower and chalk for T2B.
8 T2B UB
10 C&J at 35# UB
14 Cal Rows
9.875 = 312
18.1 RX (Masters 35 – 39) – 8 Rds +18 (258 reps) Really wanted to get closer to 10 but I was ALL done at 10 Min and had to shout at myself in my head to just keep my body moving and I was NOT allowed to give up. My lungs hurt like heck for like an hour after. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W1alKg2fzg&t=237s I am DEFINITELY not doing this again, though I wanted a bit better score. I did look at Chris M’s score and figured I wouldn’t be able to match him, but I had a secret hope…:) (I’m the slow… Read more »
Great work Janelle!
Great work, my wife got 256, you guys would have been neck and neck!
Done Saturday
18.1 Rx (Masters 35-39) – 10rds + 7 TTB (327 reps)
https://youtu.be/G33d-_oHShs
Wow, I wanted to quit 5mins in. Everything felt fatigued by the end… great challenge. Congrats to all for finishing strong on this one, it tested the mind and the body in an intense way! My performance was right where I wanted to be, glad to be moving on to the next one.
You killed that one! Way to go!!!
Thanks Trion, just saw your score you did great too. So many of us finished in a tight group, a testimony to our Invictus training no doubt!
Absolutely! Invictus has helped me tremendously. Btw, I am envious of your garage gym set up!
Ha, my wife was embarrassed that the video captured the “ugly side” of the garage with all the random stuff. I was pumped to get my own setup, since as you know, no one in New Orleans even has a garage.
Did you have to show the monitor of the rower in your submission video? Great job BTW! Way to kill it!
Short answer, no. Long answer is on today’s blog page. My score was validated?? Thanks! Good luck!
What blog post? Your blog?
Ha sorry I meant today’s performance post.
Don’t have a 50 DB at home so had a go with the 53 KB. Other than that rx. Awkward.
7 + 8 = 232. Ugh.
Rx 5 rounds + 14, gosh im slow lol
Slow compared to…??? I’m training a guy right now who would not have gotten to round 3 (hell, he wouldn’t have been able to do toes to bar at all). So, I say great job!
You showed up and suffered for 20mins, take pride in that! Great job! Like I always say, ask 10 of your friends and family what they did today, I guarantee you did something they wouldn’t dream of doing!
Rx 55-60
8 rounds + 3 reps = 259
T2B 4/4, DBHC&J were UB; tried to keep rows at 1000 calls per hour. 1st round was under 1:50 way too fast.
Nice job, Jay. If I am within 30 of your score I will be happy. You did great.
Thanks Ryan. My goal was 2:20/round to get 9 rounds. Good luck!
Rx. 8 rds 29 reps 285 total
I was hoping to get to the 10th round, but came up 3 cals short. I paced out the first round to much in hindsight. I’m really happy with the result though.
T2B all quick singles; cleans all UB; rows :35-38 seconds
One funny thing was when a neighbor came over to get her son while I was doing T2B!
Way to go everyone!
Rx’d 9 rds + 10calz = 316.
Went UB on ttb thru 5rds. 6&7 did 5/3 to save grip then went back UB.
UB all dB cleansing.
Rows took :40-:50.
Ugh I’m happy with my score but 10 rds were right there. Great job everyone – – YOU’RE CRUSHING IT!
Nice work bro!
Thanks man – you killed it!
323
That was awful. Row went to dog shit.
Agreed! Good job
Thanks man – you killed it!
Great work Colton, strong score. My row slowed big time in the late rds
7rd +6
(22×7)+6=160 reps. Rx Masters 40yo.
Good work, David. Did the knee affect the workout?
Thanks for asking. Funny enough, it did not. My knee feels more awkward when I stand still for a long period of time, particularly if I twist my leg the wrong way or something like that. Rowing day before yesterday really made my knee feel pretty awkward but I got lucky and this time I felt actually pretty good.
245 reps RX
Nice work Jamaal….congrats!
Thanks! Good luck
Did two rounds of testing today. For anyone going for 10+ rounds, if you can finish with 10 seconds off the rower every two minutes you should be good (I did that with strapping in). A nice tip for those a little smaller in stature—since I’m fairly bite sized, my biggest struggle comes from moving weight, in this case the HCJ. For the sake of efficiency, keep that DB incredibly close, and let your hips do the work on the way up. Also, keep a chalk bucket right next to you (major ?). Tried posting a video to show my… Read more »
Thanx for the advice Teddy. I did some practice reps/rounds…but not for speed. I’m headed to buy 35# hex DB’s…will work way better than loadables….I think.
I’m planning on going the loadable DB route, what’s your concern?
The bulk of the db…mine are sooo old school…the plates are only 2.5 and 5 #…I normally use my bb weights …but then it wouldn’t meet the height standard. So using so many plates to get to 35# makes it very bulky…not so easy to maneuver.
I got you. I’ll be using 3 – 5# plates and 1 – 2.5# plate per side to get to 50 with the handle weighing 15#. I have the rogue ones so the handles are really long. Hopefully I don’t injure myself!
Damn…now I’m jealous! Those db”s look awesome!
They’re pretty nice, a little awkward to get used to, but the rotating handles make it worth it. They’re like mini barbells.
Yes…that is nice. Another reason I put my bb weights on my db handles…they don’t tighten down tight so the plates rotate.
Thanks for the tip! Im attacking this one tomorrow too. Good luck! You will kill this
Awesome tips. I wish I would have seen this before hand.
Great tips Teddy, wish I had read these and all the other posts before doing the wod
7+8 reps – Rx-ish can’t really reach the bar on ttb so tired to go as high as I could without hurting my shoulders
Way to push yourself Mani…congrats!
Thanks Candy
10+3 Rx TTB fell apart round 8 hit 4/4
Definitely feel at an advantage getting to read all your tips plus stuff online “teamrichey” vlog and brute strengths video….Chris thanks for advice I practiced the hang clean quite a bit….basically tried to hit every round within two minutes gained a bunch of time on the front end and clung to it at the end
Count my blessing everyday just to be able and capable to grind with u fine folks!
Amazing Dustin! Congrats on a great performance! Doing this tomorrow and I’m super nervous!
Thanks Candy ur gunna kill it! I liked swinging it like a kb and bringing it str8 back down to hang no pause on way back down! Pretty much the way Briggs did it just much slower lol!
I practiced it that way today, you could tell Briggs made up a bunch of time by dropping straight down rather than dropping to the shoulder, then down. You killed it Dustin, I figured you would since you kill long AMRAPs, hoping to enter the 10 rd club tomorrow.
Thanks bro you will I agree with Chris 11 rounds is there…I slowed way down on rowing towards end and t2b def aren’t second nature for me…I had my db set up so fall off bar one step back and I was standing over it…than rower sideways right behind that…set straps up so I could just slide in and out and not touch them during workout those are the few things I felt I did “right”
Great advice about the straps, I would have missed that! I’ll be in my garage, so by default everything will be close together. You guys have set the bar high, I’ll just be trying to keep up!
10+! Awesome – well done Dustin.
Thanks Chris!
Amazing work this is great!! Congratulations my friend and thanks for the tips
Thanks u got it Joey!
Awesome score man!!
Great work Dustin! Nailed it!
Dustin you set the bar high. Great stuff brother, proud of you man!
Thanks brother ur gunna do great!
Rx – 8+25 (281)
Thanks for everyone’s tips, greatly appreciated. Chris M, ur cnj tip helped a lot… had to wait a couple times to do ttb since i’m part of globo, but the cnj’s helped keep me from falling off too much
Great work…Joe…
So how did u make out with the row…did u stick with a higher setting. The row is what will kill me.
I ended up going with 7… pretty glad i didn’t go with 10 haha but rowing is not one of my strong suits and i didn’t think it was catastrophic for me… u will do great, as always tomorrow
Great stuff guys. What setting r u guys using on the erg’s? I’m thinking less than 10 for me on this, maybe 9 or 8? Didn’t see that as a standard on main site
Ooohh Good question!
I’m good for one every now and again… solar eclipses come more often tho
For cals I usually go around 7, when rowing for meters around 4!
I typically use 7 for cal rows – no standard all preference
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4COPlfJfnuA
Cool, thx all
Normally row 6.5 hit this at 6 was nervous about pulling towards the end easiest way to find out is go to options-drag factor display take a couple of pulls should be at around 135
304 Reps
Great job Chris..congrats!
Thanks candy it was hard doing it by myself lol
No Row machine. Had to sub for a 200mts run.
Did 7 rnds with. 22kgs dumbbell and 8 T2B.
It was brutal. But you guys keep pushing me.
TGIF. I’m going to enjoy the bbq tonight
Great job – enjoy the food!
Ty! I love the community and how we encourage each other.
Nice work Fernando!
Ty Candy, far too kind.
18.1 as Rx 8+19 My goal was to keep moving, keep a steady pace, go unbroken on all the movements, and hit at least 9 rounds. I accomplished most of the goals, with the only real rest coming on my transitions (the bar was a not close to the rower and DB). However, I could have totally gone faster, I should have at least speed up on the 5th or 6th round but, opted to start speeding up on the 7th which cost me hitting my goal of 9 rounds. Although, I’m s super slow rower and that did cost… Read more »
Great job!
Good job Jose! I’m a slow rower too…I will have to make up time on the t2b and hc&j.
