RESULTS
How you do anything is how you do everything. Both our community and coaches are here to help you push past your comfort zone and achieve the results you want.
I was so nervous at first because Invictus is known as being a big gym. But it never felt like that — everyone was so welcoming and there was a huge sense of community. The coaches are the best in the game and other members will back you, especially if you tell them your goal.

During your first 1-on-1 training session, one of our coaches will get you moving, learn about your fitness history and fitness goals. Then we’ll help determine and create a workout plan that is personalized for you. No matter what fitness experience you have, our coaches will meet you where you’re at and make you feel at home! Most importantly, you’ll be introduced to the Invictus culture—a family of like-minded people who are passionate, knowledgeable and want you to reach your fitness goals.
WHAT OUR MEMBERS
ARE SAYING...
Meet Our Team of Coaches
Our coaching staff is professionally trained, and highly experienced in helping people of all ability levels achieve their health and fitness goals.
Members of out-of-town CrossFit affiliates are welcome to drop into any of our normally scheduled group coaching sessions for $25 per visit or $75 for a week! The joy of CrossFit has always been in the community of amazing individuals, and we never want to lose sight of that.
Head here for the schedule of Group Sessions at either of our locations.
Invictus is an all-coaching facility. We have a staff of expert coaches and want all of our members and visitors to benefit from them. Accordingly, we do not offer open gym. If you have a special circumstance, please email info@crossfitinvictus.com and we will see if it’s possible to accommodate.
Invictus coaches are available for private coaching sessions throughout the day. To inquire about or schedule private coaching with an Invictus coach, please give us a call at 619-231-3000 (Downtown).
Physical limitations
If you have physical limitations or have had issues finding an appropriate exercise program due to physical limitations, we have a few options for you - private training, group coaching or our Adaptive Fitness class. Our coaches are experts at customizing workouts and prescribing exercises appropriate for your current abilities and limitations. They can also provide suggestions and instruction for corrective exercises and mobility/activation work to ensure that individuals feel confident in both private and group coaching environments.
If you prefer a group that includes the support of other athletes with physical limitations, Invictus offers a free, weekly Adaptive Fitness class every Wednesday at 1 pm at the Downtown location. To find out more about the Adaptive Fitness program at Invictus, please contact Coach Alec at alec@crossfitinvictus.com.
Injuries
We know some of the biggest worries people have about starting CrossFit are whether or not they can ‘survive’ all the workouts. This is a legitimate concern with any new workout regimen and we are proud that our world-class coaches expertly customize the workouts for and watch each member to ensure workouts are challenging, yet doable, and safe for each individual.
Whether you’re coming in with an acute injury or have a rap sheet of chronic problems and pains, we’ve got you covered. Our coaches are experts at customizing workouts and prescribing exercises to not only work around your limitations, but also help you to improve them with corrective exercises and mobility work.
Because of their great care and knowledge in these areas and focus on proper technique before adding weight or speed to movements, you don’t have to worry about getting injured in the gym. In fact, the things you will learn about properly moving your body and weights will both strengthen you and give you knowledge to prevent injuries.
This is our chance to get to know you, your goals and any previous history you have with fitness and general health. We will get you moving, assess various movement patterns and provide movement instruction. You may get in a light workout, but the emphasis will be on learning more about you and how to create the right path for your success. Before you leave, you will have a clear understanding of how our gym works, and the best next steps for you to achieve your goals.
Invictus has enjoyed competitive success in the sport of CrossFit, but our competitive make up less than 1% of the people we serve. The vast majority of our members are looking to improve their health and vitality, not compete. Our success stories include, among others, working professionals who have lost 40 lbs in just 8 weeks of training with us, women who have rediscovered their power and athleticism, recreational runners who have shattered personal best 5k and marathon times, and professional athletes who have gone on to win their sport’s ultimate prize.
You don’t have to be of any certain ‘fitness level’ to start a workout program, especially not at Invictus. When you look around the gym at any given time, you will see all types of people who are enjoying the camaraderie of participating in the same workout as each other while doing completely different versions based on their level of fitness or comfort with the movement. One of the best things about having a coach is that there is someone there to make sure you are pushing yourself to the level of your ability and sometimes this means helping you make the workout more ‘manageable’. We’ve all been there so everyone is non-judgemental and super supportive!
If you are working out 4-5 days a week anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, be prepared to get a lean, strong and more powerful body. Not only this, but you will feel better about yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. But you will not get ‘too big’ or bulky.
If you are training twice a day, accumulating 4+ hours of training a day, then you might possibly start to add more muscle mass like the elite athletes. At the level those athletes are at though, they care more about performance than aesthetics and they are trying to build lean muscle.
Our professional coaching staff and community are the most compelling reasons to be part of Invictus, but we also offer some more tangible benefits that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere.
You’ll have access to two gym locations, more than 16 group coaching sessions per day, 8 different goal-based programs (everything from guided nutrition programs and running club to Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit). We have dedicated kids’ areas, showers and towel service – among a host of other membership benefits.
Yes, there is a kids’ area where you can see your little ones and they can see you while you workout. The area is not supervised and Invictus is not responsible for activities carried out in the kids’ area.
Your membership is unlimited which means you can attend multiple classes per day if you choose. Have a quick conversation with your coach though about your training goals and what your schedule looks like so they can recommend an ideal training schedule that will allow you to make steady progress and maximize recovery while minimizing the risks of injury or burnout.
