Looking for a Way to Give Back?
Written by Cat Blatner

The Everyday Warrior organization has touched so many lives in the past year. One in particular was a very dear friend of mine, Cindy Loung Archibald, who just recently lost her battle with cancer.

I met Cindy during my very first CrossFit class ever. I couldn’t understand how such a small woman could throw around so much weight and I was gasping trying to keep up with those powerful little legs. When I decided that I wanted to coach, I had the support of Cindy right from the start. She always told me how much she enjoyed my classes or let me know when she thought there were areas where I could improve. Cindy made waking up at 5:00 a.m. every single day a joy. She brought so much happiness to this world and, as I sit here writing, I think back on so many amazing memories I have because of her. I’ll never forget reminding her constantly that even at 5:15 a.m., her foam roller wasn’t a pillow and no one needs to roll out the side of their head.

She always had me laughing. I miss her so much and I am so grateful that she came into my life.

It’s been almost a year since Cindy’s world was turned upside-down with a horrifying diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer. With three kids, a husband and a CrossFit community to fight for, Cindy did just that – she fought until the very end.

Everyday Warrior reminded Cindy that she wasn’t alone in her fight. The community came together to support Cindy and she was there to support others who were experiencing the same struggles. Although Cindy’s life was cut short, her legacy will live on forever as a warrior. She leaves us with the inspiration to take control of our lives, to grasp every opportunity we have to make a beautiful memory. As Cindy always said, “Don’t wait.”

If you haven’t heard about Everyday Warrior just yet, let me tell you more about this amazing organization. Everyday Warrior’s sole purpose is to support people who are struggling with the financial burdens that accompany the diagnosis of Cancer. Many non-profit organizations gather funds to support cancer research, which is amazing, but the money raised from the Everyday Warrior foundation goes straight to the pockets of someone who is currently fighting cancer. There is no better way to start off the new year then to extend a helping hand to someone who really needs it. Whether you support Everyday Warrior financially or spread the word about what they do, every bit helps!
