The Invictus Mindset Podcast celebrates our 1-year anniversary with CrossFit Games legend, Dan Bailey. Dan is a 5-time competitor at the CrossFit Games, with five top 10 finishes. He shares his faith and mindset as we learn about his journey through the world of CrossFit. Consistency through adversity in Dan’s career has allowed him to overcome major setbacks with injuries. His training mindset touched upon in the interview is not to get caught up in your limitations but to aim your focus on what you can do to become better each day.
Dan Bailey Consistency in Recovery From Injury
In 2019, Dan had three surgeries in one year trying to fix and heal his body from a few nagging injuries. While talking about his year of surgeries Dan shares with us this quote about being consistent during the recovery process, “You’re on the right road, you just need to keep going. You are going to get there eventually”. He was able to keep the mindset that I just need to keep doing something to slowly get better each day, it may feel insignificant at the time but you will “get there eventually” with consistent effort. Bryce Smith shares about injuries through a blog post where he details that you have 2 options, “Do what you can with what you have and where you are” or have a “pity party”.
