Invictus Masters Athlete Camp

Invictus will be hosting a Masters Athlete Camp, February 4-6, 2022. Yes, you read that correctly! A LIVE, in-person Athlete Camp designed for Masters Athletes and scheduled just in time to send off Masters Athletes fully prepared to tackle the 2022 CrossFit Open.

A Camp Designed for Masters Athletes

Why, you may ask, are we hosting a Masters-specific Athlete Camp? Well, to put it simply, we love our Masters Athletes and want to support them the best we can heading into the 2022 season. A Masters Athlete Camp gives Invictus the opportunity to work in person with our Masters Athletes from around the world and allows us to connect with as many of our Masters athletes as possible. We have had tremendous success with our competitive Masters athletes and we’ve noticed that getting athletes together in a supportive training environment can yield incredible results to mindset and performance. Our camp will touch on a variety of training aspects all designed to help our Masters athletes learn, perform and recover at their very best.

Meet the Masters Camp Coaching Team…

Coach Jared Enderton will be working with our athletes on Olympic Weightlifting, fine tuning technique and discussing mindset when approaching heavy lifts. Focusing on positional work from the top down, especially for a Masters athlete, can help tremendously with efficiency of the lift as well as improving confidence when approaching the barbell.

Here are some examples of what type of coaching athletes will receive from coach Jared:
Split Jerk Tips to Improve Consistency
Overcome the Mental Aspect of Weightlifting

Coach Travis Ewart will be working with our Masters athletes on common issues we see in Gymnastics movements that are often found in CrossFit. Things like handstand walk development, muscle-up skill work and discussing how to build progressions to your training to improve upon the higher skill based movements. Having hands-on coaching for developing and working on these skills is very beneficial and coaching drills is just one example of what will be covered over the weekend.
