Introducing Honorary Invicti Jenny LaBaw
Written by C.J. Martin

Some of you might have seen a familiar looking, uber-fit woman around the gym over the last couple of weeks. That’s Jenny LaBaw. My introduction will not be nearly as cool as the video above produced by her boyfriend, Marcus Brown, but I will try to provide some relevant details.

Jenny is down here in San Diego training for a few weeks before her Regionals (NorCal). Due to the kindness and support of some amazing people – such as her clients and employer (NorCal Strength & Conditioning) up in Chico, friends who have offered housing accommodations, etc. – Jenny has the opportunity to pursue her athletic goals without any other distractions. She gets to be an athlete.

That might sound funny at first, but Jenny is also a coach. She coaches athletes in the gym day in and day out. But as most coaches will tell you . . . that means that she rarely has time to check out of that coaching role and be coached by others as an athlete. So that’s exactly what she’s here to do . . . be an athlete and learn from as many of the Invictus coaches and athletes as she can.

The cool thing is, it also means that all of you members of the Sea of Green will have an opportunity to meet Jenny before you find yourself cheering at the top of your lungs for her at the Home Depot Center in July. Jenny is training hard for the opportunity to return to the CrossFit Games, and your support and well wishes can go a long way in helping her achieve that goal. So please welcome Jenny to the Invictus family while she is here. You’ll find that she is one of the most humble, easy-going individuals you could hope to meet. She’s the perfect addition to our Invictus family!
