The Magic Bullet . . . It’s MAGIC!
Written by Michele Vieux

The best purchase I’ve made in a while was my recent splurge on a Magic Bullet at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I went in for a pillow and came out with this wonderful little blender in addition.

The Magic Bullet will run you about $50 at any home store and is well worth the money. It comes with a powerful motor and blades that an ice cube is no match for. It is small, so it doesn’t take up a lot of counter or cabinet space. And it comes with an assortment of blending containers including a set of drink glasses that frosty bevs can be made and consumed in.

If the name Magic Bullet sounds familiar, that’s because it is one of those “as seen on TV” products where the infomercial host whips up an amazing concoction in seconds. Well, I am vouching for what you may have seen. I have been able to whip up some delicious breakfast smoothies, iced coffees, Paleo shakes, salsas, and sauces in seconds.

One of my favorites is the breakfast-on-the-go shakes I can literally put together in less than one minute and be out the door with a nutritious and very tasty meal in my hand.

Ingredients:

  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 pear
  • ¼ c. egg white protein (I get mine online from Rose Acre Farms)
  • 2 ice cubes
  • ½ c. coconut milk
  • ½ c. water (or cold coffee)
  • ½ t. vanilla

Directions:

Put all ingredients into drink cup. Screw on blades. Place drink cup in Magic Bullet, twist to start motor. Wait 10 seconds and voila!

Great job to everyone – 2,675,318 meters rowed and one week left!!!!

  2. It just so happens that your local Costco carries the Magic Bullet!! Can’t beat the price!
I am sure Michelle meant to buy it at Costco!! Any questions, see Krazy K. (aka: a Costco Manager)

  3. This thing is great, I love the one we have and it does the job.

  4. I have a buddy that bought one and told me basically all it can do is make shakes or puree foods. There was an advertised chop setting but basically it just destroys anything you put in it into mush.

Has anyone tried using this to chop veggies or is my buddy right and it’s just for shakes?

  5. Hi everyone! It’s Dezirae from CFLV- I came into Invictus about a week & a half ago for a workout (Fri. Sept 25th) and just wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome! I really enjoyed meeting all of you and seeing your gym…it’s a great facility!
If any of you are ever in Vegas, stop by! http://www.crossfitlasvegas.com

    Thanks again!

  6. M, have you ever used the Magic Bullet whilst wearing your Snuggie?

  7. Mark, duh. I always wear my Snuggie while I cook. Ben, yes, the chop setting works pretty well but you have to use the other blade and pulse it only a few times instead of letting it run like you would for a smoothie.
