A Day of Celebration
Today we are taking a break from the substantive blog post to celebrate some of our stud athletes and coaches. First, Frank and Tausha–who recently spent their Valentine’s Day with Coach Burgener and Sage at the Olympic Lifting Cert in Arizona–participated in the Level 1 CrossFit Trainer Certification this past weekend. They were rockin’ their Invictus gear and were no doubt making us very proud to have them as part of our community. Great job guys!
Second, our very own Manimal, CF Invictus coach Mark Riebel, was just accepted to the very prestigious physical therapy program at Baylor University. Many competent applicants apply for this program through the United States Navy, but very few are selected. Despite the extremely competitive process, the Navy saw what we see from Mark daily, a talented, dedicated worker who would do anything to help others. We couldn’t be happier for Mark. We will be sad when he goes off to school in the Fall, but knowing that he is realizing his dreams makes it all worth it. (Plus, we will try to twist his arm and make him continue writing articles for our site so we can feel like we are learning along with him.) Congratulations Manimal!

Tausha,
Thank you so much for the kind words on the blog yesterday. The coaches working your certification are wonderful individuals, stud athletes and great coaches. It’s an honor that they would say those things. I am blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing coaches at CrossFit Invictus and in the larger CrossFit community, and equally grateful for the amazing individuals that we get to coach every day. It is folks like you and Frank that motivate us to work our butts off to be the best we can be, and your successes and progress are the rewards that we cherish. Keep up the great work, and thanks for representing us so well at the certification.
Tausha and Frank – Nice work this weekend at your Level 1! It was great meeting you guys.
Mark – That is great news! I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you so much CJ….we are so very proud! We are fortunate to have crossed paths and joined your community. Your sense of responsibility, duty and community resonates in us. With pride we wear Invictus gear.
Trish, it was such a pleasure meeting you this weekend. Thank you for your hospitality and the pics….I actually have my eyes open…:)!
Congrats Mark, you will make a great Physical Therapist! I have heard nothing but great things about Baylor and even though we will lose an incredible individual we are better for having known you and coached by you.
Tausha and Frank
Nice work Frank and Tausha! Also a huge congratulations to Mark. For those of you who don’t know, Army-Baylor is ranked as one of the top 5 physical therapy programs in the nation. On top of that, student tuition is funded by the military so the application process is extremely competitive with applicants both military and civilian. Congrats Mark, you’re going to be an awesome PT.
Congrats to Frank, Tausha and Mark! What a great way to start a Tuesday morning with awesome news for all.
Mark, I knew you were wicked smart–but DAMN! You keep impressing me, young man! I have every belief that you are going to graduate at the top of your class.
Please come back to San Diego and set up shop so you can take care of Barry and me in our old age, mmmmkay?
Congrats Frank and Tausha on completing your Level 1 and the Olympic Lifting cert. And I honestly can’t think of a better way for a couple to spend Valentine’s Day. Not sure what that says about me.
Mark, congrats to you too! There wasn’t any doubt in my mind that you would get accepted. Baylor is lucky to have you. I am already sad at the idea of you being gone in the fall, but know you will always be a member of the CFI family – even if you aren’t in SD. So happy for you my friend.
Great WOD today. Christina, I love seeing you push yourself with the weight. Not to mention your dedication to getting those double unders. Your hard work will pay off.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Mark! A huge congrats on the acceptance my man!
Make sure you come back to SD with those skills… and fancy new title.
Mark, I couldn’t be happier, brotha. You easily demonstrate what natural talent, intelligence, and hard work can achieve. I fully expect MAD SKILLZ to emerge from you and for you to douse us with the knowledge and truth when you’re done killing it at Baylor.
