CrossFit Invictus - 70% complete
Join us Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 1p.m. for a special New Year’s Day WOD.
There is only one way to ring in the New Year and that is with a challenging workout surrounded by your CrossFit community! We have been working long and hard to get the facility ready for you. We still have some work to do, but that shouldn’t keep us from gathering to celebrate the New Year and participate in some CrossFit fun.
Bring your family and friends. WOD details will be a surprise, but we promise it will be a memorable one!

Happy New Year to everyone at CFI!!!
Barry and I will see you at 1 p.m. today. We are so excited to be part of this new community and will do everything we can to make it the best in San Diego!!
I am so excited. I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. I am downing a cup of very strong coffee so I can head to the gym. I can’t wait to see you all!
Happy New Year everyone! I wish I was there to ring it in at 1pm. Let me know what the WOD is and I will certainly hit it up tomorrow. How exciting for everyone, hope the place is big enough for your New Years crowd!
Hope you had a GREAT first run!
CFI Crew,
WOW!!! What a fabulous inaugural WOD. So cool to see everyone come out and celebrate.
Thanks to Nate, Josh and Ken for making up more than a few reps for me. It was an “Invictacious” time and I now feel “Invictiified”.
Congrats CJ! The CFI coaches are the best in town and the new facility is fantastic!
HOOYAHH CFI!

What an amazing way to start a new year. I never imagined that so many friends would show up for our inaugural WOD on New Year’s Day. I feel honored and blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community. And on top of the generosity and support you all have shown me and the stud CFI coaches, you are animals. Today’s workout was not for the faint of heart. Here’s what was on the agenda to celebrate “2009.”
Teams of four completed the following movements in the prescribed order (with only two team members working at the same time):
1600 meter relay run (one member running at a time), and then:
287 Kettlebell Swings
287 Knees to Elbows
287 Squats
287 Push Press (dumbbells)
287 Double-Unders
287 Push-Ups
287 Sumo Deadlift High Pull with Kettlebell
Which, of course, equals 2009 repetitions of goodness for the upcoming year.
Thank you all for making our first workout amazing. I look forward to many more in the upcoming year.
What a fun sounding WOD, can’t wait for 2010.
I came in to check out CJ’s new place but wasn’t able to work out. CJ, you have done an amazing job and with your group of trainers, you are going to DOMINATE the San Diego CrossFit scene. I can’t wait to get in there and hit some wod’s with you guys! Congratulations!!!
