Going Heavy in the Hood
What task? Well, it really shouldn’t matter. CrossFit is all about GPP – General Physical Preparedness. It’s about building competency in all aspects of fitness so that you are prepared to handle whatever task life throws at you. And as much as it pains me to admit it, life rarely throws tasks at us that require lifting objects evenly distributed over the length of a seven foot, 28 millimeter barbell. More often than not, objects we must lift and move are too big to get our hands around and unevenly weighted. You can look at this as an annoyance or an opportunity to test your GPP. A CrossFitter will choose the latter.
To that end, if any CrossFitters out there are looking for an opportunity to challenge themselves and test their GPP, CrossFit Invictus has quite the offer for you. Friday afternoon/evening around 4 or 5 p.m. CrossFit Invictus will receive 4500 square feet of rolled rubber matting. The task: move mats from the truck to desired location in the gym. The WOD will not have a strict time component. Snacking, drinking and cracking jokes with friends will be encouraged. Please join us if you can. If you cannot make it, or if that wouldn’t be enough for you, try this WOD:
For time, complete rounds of:
10 Burpee/Tuck Jumps (aka, “Bastards”) and 1 L-Pull-Up
9 Bastards and 2 L-Pull-Ups
8 Bastards and 3 L-Pull-Ups
7 Bastards and 4 L-Pull-Ups
6 Bastards and 5 L-Pull-Ups
5 Bastards and 6 L-Pull-Ups
4 Bastards and 7 L-Pull-Ups
3 Bastards and 8 L-Pull-Ups
2 Bastards and 9 L-Pull-Ups
1 Bastard and 10 L-Pull-Ups

Fellow Invictoids,
Solid work 0600 crew! Props to Barry on keeping really strict L pull up form. I posted a 20:10 (modifed 1 pull up and 3 KTE’s for some of the L pull ups towards the latter part of the WOD). Things got interesting at about round eight. For some strange reason, it appeared to get more dificult as the WOD progressed.
We would love come and sling some rubber with everyone, but we have guests coming this evening (although I could rope them into helping by masking it as dinner date in Little Italy…hmmmm)
The whole Freischlag clan will be at the WOD tomorrow morning. I’m SO looking forward to the grand opening and a date night with Jillianne. HOYAHHH CFI!

Mark,
Thanks as always for further educating us. And for so politely saying that POS doesn’t know is acetabulum from his elbow!
Is it safe to say that the picture of The Hammer is bad ass!
Mike, what was that 375#?
Nice to see Crossfit Invictus is now listed on the Crossfit.com affliates page under the San Diego affiliates!!
Bon weekend to everyone!
About another hour of work and I am headed down to roll out some matting. I am down for a little GPP. Bring it!
