A. Hit 275#, failed at 300# which would have been a 10# PR. Didn’t have the juices flowing today.

B. 2 + 12 Rx, knew this would feel like a kick in the teeth, so really paced out the thrusters. Also got a nosebleed halfway through (popped a vessel straining overhead) which slowed things down somewhat.

B. 2 rounds + 20 Thrusters

BTW this is my first Invictus WOD. Haven’t done crossfit for almost a year but have some more time on my hands over the next few months. I will be training solo in my garage in little ol’ Auckland, New Zealand.

A. Worked up to then failed at #325 (#320 old/current 1RM), did #315 to finish on a good note.
B. As Rx: 2 rds + 6 burpees. Heavy Thrusters always kick my butt.
….Finished with some GHDSU and weighted box jumps with hockey tonight.

Equal to my last 1RM, my legs can drive more weight, but I get trouble keeping my torso upright, wich is the limiting factor in this lift for me

B. 3+15 @50kg thrusters

What do you feel is your biggest weakness in the front squat? Core? Thoracic mobility?

Great work today! Keep working on those front squats and they will improve! Maybe incorporate some tempo front squats.. Slow down the decent and pause for a good 3 seconds at the bottom.

Thoracic mobility. I’m stretching myself over a foamroll frequently to loosen it up. I’m also a bit tight in my lats, affecting my frontrack position. I’m working on it! Tempo frontsquats is a good idea 🙂 Would you say 3-5sets at light weight as warmup?

A. 1RM Front Squat – worked up to 315# (15# PR – no belt)
B. “Sage at 20” as Rx – 3 rounds + 7
… thrusters functioned as the gate keeper – well timed blog post … this one is leaky.

For accountability purposes, I’ll post my awful results. I tried thrusters in the warmup but they feel like my wrists were going to snap so I had to modify it. Not having worked out for 3+ months is humbling… Thankfully tomorrow is a new day. A. Front Squat – 225 235F. I failed at 205# 3 weeks ago so getting some of my strength back slowly. Old PR was 265 but that was well before the long layoff. B. Modified workout to: 20 Min AMRAP: 20 Squat Cleans 135# 20 Pull-ups 20 Burpees over the bar 1 Round + 47… Read more »
