A huge thank you to our good friend Dutch Lowy for creating two phenomenal workouts to help us test and assess our stud athletes in preparation of the 2009 CrossFit Games Affiliate Cup challenge.

  1. Thanks for throwing me under the bus CJ!!

    Good luck everyone!
I will be thinking about you tomorrow.

  2. Looks like fun. See you all tomorrow.

  3. This will be fun to watch!

  4. What up CFI!! Those WODs look pretty gnarly!

So, we are all settled in Camarillo and I have been able to come home the last two weekends. It’s hard leaving the kids and then have fly back to those military style dorms every Sunday night. Anyway, I made it through the first and second week of training. I was surprised at the CrossFit style of PT they do up there. The PT Staff are always ensuring proper ROM on lunges, squats. push ups, and pull ups. It’s tough, but I like it so far. I am currently ranked #8 of 231 cadets in PT.

I cannot tell you guys how important CrossFit has been in preparing me for this. It is an honest kick in the gut. Very fast two mile runs with all sorts of calisthenics mixed in for about 1-2 hours. In fact, when the PT is especially rough, I go to my ‘happy place’ and think about a CFO WOD and I get super motivated to press on! The good news is that when they have us doing insane reps of air squats, my form looks perfect compared to my classmates’ :)

We miss you guys a lot and look forward to seeing everyone at Aromas next month. Save a few spots under the CFI tent!!

  6. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported today as well as CFI for putting on a great event.
