March 11th training week

Did anyone run the San Diego Half Marathon yesterday?  I heard it was an amazing experience for folks running into Petco park for the finish. I know Miné set a PR with an unofficial time of 1:51 which included running up Washington St.  - how about that?  Did anyone else PR? Here is the week of training – Short Intervals - 4 x 400s with 4 minutes rest Long Intervals - 5 Min on, 2:30 Min off, 6 Min on, 3 Min off, 7 Min on.. March 4th training week

We had a great weekend with 2 events – crossfit extravaganza @ San Diego Running Institute Saturday morning was a great success.  We had all sorts of good questions about the way we train and everyone participated in a fun 15 minute team workout of 200M sprints, burpees and plank holds. Sunday we put on a run clinic @ Lululemon where we covered the basics of run mechanics – good times were had. Great night yesterday to be back on the track The workout being a little shorter, so we were able to get some good running drills to emphasize proper mechanics – remember the ideal POSE, the falling that occurs and pulling of the foot, simple right?  Easy to understand but can take a lifetime to master. New folks this week – Ryan S., Edgar, Ian A. – keep bringing your friends, its always super fun to run in a group than by yourself. 1.5 Mile Repeats at Balboa Park

  Thank you to everyone that showed up last night to run at the park.  The school had a playoff soccer game so we took our show on the road and had a great turn out.  I am thinking once it gets lighter outside we will be going mobile more often – what do you all think? It’s been a couple of weeks, but we are back at the track – there is a soccer game/tournament at the stadium today so let’s be super courteous of who we share the track with. Pre Thanksgiving
