The 2013 CrossFit Open Season is almost here!
Written by Jaimie Bougie
It’s that time of year again – the 2013 CrossFit Open Season is only a month away! The 2013 CrossFit Open Season officially starts March 6, 2013 and will consist of one competition workout each week for five weeks. Last year’s Invictus “Friday Night Lights” was a ton of fun and we are looking forward to another successful and fun Open Season.
This year, Invictus Friday Night Lights will be slightly different, so here are the details:
- Friday Night Lights will be held each Friday during the Open Season and will be open to Invictus Members who are competing in the Open. These evening sessions will be designed to mimic a competition environment, so we hope for lots of cheering spectators and a dozen or so reliable volunteer judges. For those who want to conquer the workouts but need to scale, or simply want a less intense environment, there will be opportunities in all of our regular group sessions to perform the Open workouts.
- Friday Night Lights will begin at 6:00 p.m. each Friday of the Open. That will mean that our regular 5:30 p.m. session will be canceled so that we can get the gym set-up and so that all participants have an opportunity to warm-up from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.You’ll be able to sign up for heat times each week of the competition after the workout has been announced on Wednesday nights.
- We encourage all of the Sea of Green, whether you are competing or not, to join us for Friday Night Lights to help judge the workouts and cheer on your fellow Invicti. There will also be prizes and food for purchase during the festivities.
We will be holding a gym meeting on Friday, February 8th at 6:30 p.m. to explain all of these details more in-depth and to answer any questions that you might have. We will also have laptops and iPads available to help you officially register for the Open under one of the two Invictus teams set up for this year.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!

Excited for this! Curious though, will the 5:30pm class still be helf tomorrow night (the 8th)?
