Get Ready for the “Slim for the Chimney Team Challenge!”
Written by C.J. Martin
Starting on October 29th and ending on December 19th, we will be hosting our most challenging team event yet. Our Slim for the Chimney Team Challenge will pit you and a partner against other two person teams in a challenge to do the unthinkable . . . to eat clean and change the way you look and feel during the holiday season.
Like our “Look Good, Feel Good” challenges, Slim for the Chimney will be based on peer-reviewed photos to determine which team of two have made the best improvements over an 8-week period. Only one partner is required be an Invictus member, so prepare your spouse, friend or family member for their healthiest holiday season ever . . . and you could win a nice cash prize!!!
On Monday, October 29th, both members of the team will need to visit Invictus so that before photos can be taken; men need to wear gym shorts and women need to wear a sports bra and gym shorts. These clothes should be solid color (no print or polka dots), and will be the exact same clothes that you re-take your photos in at the end of the challenge (so don’t donate them to Goodwill when they become too big for you midway through the Challenge).
There will also be the option to “get pinched” by CJ Martin, for those who want to assess their body composition/ body fat percentages. These 5-10 minute caliper readings and consultations will take place at the beginning, midpoint and end of the Challenge. There will also be a fun benchmark workout at the beginning and end of the challenge. Please note that the body composition numbers and benchmark workout will not be a factor during the voting for the winners. CJ will be available to take body composition scores on Monday, October 29th from 12:00pm until 7:30pm.
Entry Fee: $49/person
Team Prizes: 1st place – $1,000, 2nd place – $700 and 3rd place – $300
For those participating, we are also offering a variety of nutritional plans to help you stay focused and on track during the 8-week challenge:
- Nutrition Fundamentals Seminar - On Friday, November 2 at 6:30 p.m. we will host a one-hour seminar covering the basics of good nutrition. This will be structured to allow for plenty of Q&A and will be moderated by CJ Martin and Michele Vieux. This will be free for all Challenge participants.
- Meal Planning and Nutrition Coaching – Invictus is proud to be offering a new meal planning and nutrition coaching service. Coach Michele Vieux will be heading up this new offering and introducing our members to a very cool new system that allows Michele to create weekly meal plans for members that will put them on the right track to achieving their nutrition-related goals. Participants of the Slim for the Chimney Team Challenge can try this new service for 8 weeks for only $149.
- Pete’s Pre-Made Paleo – We know some of you don’t have time to prepare your own meals, so we now have you covered. You probably noticed the massive refrigerator that was delivered to Invictus. This will be the home of Pete’s Pre-Made Paleo meals. You can have incredible meals prepared for your entire week and delivered to the gym each Thursday. Pete’s has also worked with us to provide you a special discounted rate for those participating in this 8-week Challenge.
Finally, if you don’t have a teammate for this Challenge, just let us know. We will be collecting a list of interested participants who need partners. We’ll be happy to pair you up and help you make a new great friend who is as committed to their health and fitness as you are.
Get ready for an amazingly healthy holiday season, and let the challenge begin!
And of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask any member of the Invictus staff . . . or post to comments and we will provide answers as quickly as possible.
