An Action Packed Weekend at Invictus

An Action Packed Weekend at Invictus
Written by Jaimie Bougie

We have an action packed weekend planned at Invictus for all of our members and their friends! Not only is Saturday our monthly “Bring a Friend Day,” but we will also be participating in a charity workout that everyone will find challenging but fun, no matter what your level of fitness. We’ll also have the Not So Fast Paleo Food Truck in our parking lot serving up healthy and delicious primal/paleo post-workout meals.

This Saturday’s workout will be in honor of the Steve’s Club National Program’s “Beat the Streets” charity foundation, which raises money so that at-risk or underserved youth can join the CrossFit community at a reduced, low or no cost structure. Teens from tough neighborhoods and difficult family lives can choose to be involved in fitness, sports and other positive outlets instead of drugs, gangs and violence. This charity makes it possible for many of these teens to have this positive option.

You can find out more information about this charity event from the official Steve’s Club “Beat the Streets” page.

We will be happy to collect cash donations on Saturday, but if you’d like to do an online donation, you can donate through the Invictus team here.

On Sunday, we’ll have our weekly Yoga with Heidi Fearon, which is also open to the public, so bring a friend to this as well and share the mobility fun!

  1. Already convinced someone to join for bring a friend day. I knew he’d like to try it when, on asking him about his physical training, he replied: “I do cleans and squats in the backyard with my duffel bag filled with sand and shot.”
