Workout of the Day:
Four sets of:
Bench Press x 5 reps
Rest 10 seconds
Dynamic Push-Ups x 12 reps
Rest 3 minutes;
and then,
Four rounds for time of:
15 Pull-Ups
50-yard Bear Crawl
200 Meter Farmer’s Walk (as heavy as you can handle)

What an amazing start to the first Invictus Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good Challenge. As of right now, we have 62 participants vying for more than $1200 and three-months free membership.  Here are the preliminary results (we have NOT finished the rankings, as several participants will be completing the workout later this week):

All in all, more than 140 individuals walked through the doors of Invictus yesterday to participate in our Play Good Challenge workout – most of which are shown below on the whiteboard at the end of the day.  Great job by everyone who participated!  Keep up the good work – a LOT can change in 8 weeks!

    Hello CFI,

    Just a quick blog while I am in Phuket, Thailand and have internet. It is such a beautiful country! Simply and stunningly beautiful. Today I was able to take a trip out to Phi Phi Island and Phi tin Klang, an archipelagos, where the movie “The Beach” was filmed. No sharks though (just a tid bit, the shark in the movie was plastic). It is even more amazing in person, white soft sandy beaches and coral blue water.

    I have been keeping up with the website and just wanted to say thank you for the b-day wishes on Saturday, they really mean a lot! I miss CFI workouts quite a bit but miss the people even more. It has really grown into a community built around great people! Can’t wait to be back with Carol (I LOVE & MISS YOU LOTS SWEETHEART!!!) and then hit CFI.

    Just wanted to give a little foodie shout-out to this new delight I discovered at Trader Joe’s: Almond butter with flaxseeds!!! The almond butter itself is smooth but the whole flaxseeds offer a nice crunch and nutty taste (okay… I guess it would be a seedy taste, but nutty taste sounds better). It’s been eaten in our household on apples, by the spoonful, AND (GASP!) on bananas! Downside: it has sea salt added to it (for all you true Paleo people, I know added salt is a “no-no”), but I will take the 80 mg of sodium for this delicious treat! Also, although it is minimal, it does offer 325 mg of omega-3 per serving… every little bit helps.

    Cody Mac cleaned 240?! Maybe I should stop doing nothing but powerlifting.

    Cheddies, not to rain on your parade, but if the flax seeds are whole, you’re not getting much of anything from them. They come out the same way they go in unless you grind them (not that you necessarily have to check).

    Timed out on the workout today at 25:00 about 25m short of final bear crawl. Not sure exactly why, but this one crushed me bad. Maybe too much deliciousness in my life.
