An Empty Refrigerator, A Full Explanation
Written by Michele Vieux

I owe you guys an explanation as to why the Mmmm Good fridge has been dark and empty for the past couple of weeks and why it will continue to be dark and then soon disappear altogether.

For nearly two years, I have been providing CrossFitters (and others) with daily meal options and for some, multiple meals each day as well as stocking the fridge at Invictus with snacks and Invictus Shots (post-workout recovery shooters).

This two year experiment has allowed me to test recipes and ideas so that I may take the creative route I had always intended but haven’t had the time to do since I’ve been spending my days in the kitchen.

This was not an easy decision but I am sure it is the right one. Beginning in 2010, I will no longer offer the daily meal service so that I may take M Good (note the name change) in the creative direction I have always imagined.

While providing the meal service for the last two years, I have discovered that there is an alarmingly large percentage of the population who THINK they are making healthy choices but are actually dooming themselves and their families! Many would rather have someone provide them with healthy food so that they don’t have to think twice about where dinner is coming from and what they should eat.

What I REALLY want to do is to empower people to lead healthier lives through the choices they make.

Instead of just handing over the food, I would like to provide you with the tools to make healthy food choices, prepare healthy meals for yourselves and your families, be shining examples for your children and future generations, and lead overall healthier lives so that you may be responsible for your own well-being instead of relying on me (or some other source that may not always be around).

So, what does this mean to you? Well, as I mentioned above, December 31st 2009 will be the last day Mmmm Good Meals are available. What will be available to you are “Nutrition Packages” that will include a number of personalized services like food journal analysis; meal plans and how to execute the; shopping trips to help introduce you to new stores and markets and to re-introduce you to healthier ways to shop in the places you currently frequent; in-home consultations and “cupboard cleansings”; and even a cooking lesson. Invictus will also be stocked with Paleo Brands meals (more on that later), so you won’t be left purely on your own for your meals.

Starting next year, I will also be offering cooking classes at Invictus for small groups once a month! And, I will finally be able to publish that cookbook many of you have been asking about as well as write a “how-to” manual for people interested in starting a business like Mmmm Good Meals for those in their community.

Stay tuned for more information on all the new happs at M Good and Invictus in the upcoming year!

As you can see, even though I won’t be cooking for you on a daily basis, I will have my plate full. I am extremely excited about my new adventure and can’t wait to empower each of you to close the gap (you have already taken the first step by showing up to Invictus regularly) to completely take your health and wellness into your own hands.

Thank you for all the support you’ve shown me over the past two years. I hope I continue to play a role in each of your lives.

Never fear, Richard! I am looking into having Invictus Shots manufactured and packaged then shipped all over! And, I might be willing to share the smoothie recipe since it won’t be in the cookbook.

Congrats, Michele! You are going to do great things. Now let’s have some creamsicle dip to celebrate!

Check out the recent CF Journal video of Pat Sherwood going thru his mom’s fridge and cabinets. You can start your in-home consultation and “cupboard cleansing” at her house. YIKES! And I’m guessing that her home represents the crap found in a typical American home.

    Go fix America!

Good for you, Michele! Congrats and best of luck with your new endeavor!
