Blaine started his coaching career working with high school and college athletes to prepare them for football. After that, he traveled with Eleiko, coaching weightlifting seminars in Europe for three years and also at various CrossFit gyms throughout Europe and the US over a five year period. He, himself, grew up playing soccer and baseball until the 6th grade and then switched to football and track. Blaine played football at the University of Idaho and played one year professionally in Arena Football.

Since having a strong connection to the strength and conditioning field and working with a lot of athletes, he enjoys working with the competitive CrossFit athlete as well as the competitive athlete outside of the CrossFit world.

Besides being a spectacular coach and athlete, in college he minored in dance. Although he admits that he started off taking the classes because they were easy credits, he soon ended up liking it and stuck with it.
